Lithuania 5’x3′ Flag

Code 305

The horizontal tricolor flag of Lithuania (Lietuvos vėliava in Lithuanian) comprises three bands of yellow, green, and red. It was embraced on April 25, 1918, during Lithuania's initial phase of independence in the 20th century, spanning from 1918 to 1940. This era concluded due to successive occupations by the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany (1941–1944). In the period of Soviet dominance following World War II (1945 to 1989), the Lithuanian Soviet flag underwent changes. It initially featured a common red Soviet flag with the republic's name and later evolved to incorporate red, white, and green bands at the base.

The flag was subsequently readopted on March 20, 1989, nearly a year before Lithuania regained its independence and almost three years ahead of the Soviet Union's dissolution. The latest modification to the present flag design took place in 2004, involving a shift in the aspect ratio from 1:2 to 3:5.
